Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates.
  • Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • Develop pricing proposals and bid packages.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams during preconstruction.
  • Maintain current databases for labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Participate in bid reviews, client meetings, and scope clarification discussions.
  • Support successful project turnover to operations teams upon award.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive estimates across multiple project types.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
