The company specializes in soil and groundwater remediation, environmental construction, dewatering and mobile treatment systems, industrial decontamination, hazardous waste handling, underground storage tank removal, emergency response services, and related environmental solutions, with hundreds of successfully completed remediation projects.Job DescriptionEstimating & PreconstructionPrepare detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation, environmental construction, demolition, dewatering, and hazardous waste projects.Review plans, specifications, environmental reports, bid packages, and contract documents.Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analyses for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and disposal activities.Develop conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates.Analyze project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.Bid & Proposal DevelopmentCoordinate bid solicitations and subcontractor/vendor pricing.Prepare comprehensive bid summaries and estimate reviews for management.Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, qualifications packages, and bid submissions.Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client discussions.Ensure proposals are complete, accurate, and submitted in accordance with solicitation requirements.Technical ResponsibilitiesEstimate projects involving:Soil and groundwater remediationIn-situ remediation technologiesDewatering and treatment systemsExcavation and off-site disposalHazardous and non-hazardous waste handlingUnderground storage tank removalsIndustrial decontaminationEnvironmental construction and site restorationEmergency response servicesMobile groundwater treatment systemsCost Analysis & ProcurementDevelop detailed labor productivity assumptions and equipment utilization forecasts.Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for completeness and competitiveness.Track market pricing trends, disposal costs, and environmental service rates.Assist operations teams with project handoff and budget development following award.Collaboration & ReportingWork closely with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and technical staff during the estimating process.Maintain historical cost databases and estimating benchmarks.Support post-bid reviews and lessons-learned initiatives.Participate in project planning and execution strategy discussions.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.3+ years of estimating experience within environmental, civil, construction, remediation, demolition, or industrial services industries.Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost estimating principles.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and environmental reports.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred QualificationsExperience estimating environmental remediation or environmental construction projects.Knowledge of hazardous waste management, remediation technologies, and environmental regulations.Experience with estimating software platforms and digital takeoff tools.Familiarity with public and private sector procurement processes.HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain.Key AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.Effective communication and presentation skills.Self-motivated, organized, and team-oriented.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.What's on OfferWhat's on OfferCompetitive base salary and performance-based incentives.
