Job Description

Estimator's Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual and detailed estimates that help shape projects from the earliest stages through final design.
  • Partner with design teams to provide strategic budget guidance and accurate pricing throughout design development.
  • Own the full bidding process, including quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, bid tracking, pricing, bid leveling, and final submissions.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive, accurate, and complete pricing.
  • Build and maintain estimating databases, cost histories, and assemblies to continuously improve pricing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Help drive the implementation and optimization of modern estimating software and technology.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, architects, designers, and construction teams to develop and refine conceptual and detailed estimates.
  • Transition awarded projects seamlessly into construction by partnering with Project Managers to establish accurate project budgets and set the team up for success.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Estimator:

  • Bring 2+ years of commercial General Contractor estimating experience with a strong understanding of the full preconstruction process.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead estimating efforts and collaborate across teams, including Project Managers, field leadership, and executives.
  • Confidently leverage industry-standard estimating software, tools, and systems to drive accurate and efficient results.
  • Bring strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a consistent focus on quality, timelines, and delivering on commitments.
  • Thrive in a culture built around professionalism, transparency, accountability, and strategic project selection.
  • Be eager to help grow the Indianapolis office while building toward long-term leadership and advancement opportunities.
