Job Description

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and budgets.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Maintain and update a database of construction costs for future reference.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive bid packages for approval.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
  • Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and labor rates.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • Experience with preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to interact with clients and teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in cost analysis.
