Job Description

The responsibilities of a General Superintendent:

  • Provide leadership and oversight across multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents and field personnel.
  • Identify project risks, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support field teams with means and methods, scheduling, logistics, and subcontractor challenges.
  • Partner with Operations and Project Management teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Step into project coverage during vacations, transitions, or staffing gaps.
  • Conduct site visits and provide strategic guidance to project teams.
  • Assist with subcontractor sourcing and leverage industry relationships to support project success.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, scheduling, and client satisfaction.
  • Support projects ranging from approximately $2M-$10M across hospitality, food & beverage, commercial interiors, historic restoration, rehabilitation, and revitalization sectors.
  • Provide hands-on leadership while empowering project teams and respecting team autonomy.
  • Drive consistency and best practices across field operations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful General Superintendent should have:

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Experience as a Senior Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role.
  • Proven success overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong background in hospitality, restaurant, food & beverage, commercial interiors, restoration, rehabilitation, and historic preservation projects.
  • Experience mentoring and developing field personnel.
  • Strong understanding of schedules, subcontractor management, project planning, and field execution.
  • Knowledge of restoration scopes including masonry, waterproofing, roofing systems, structural stabilization, façade restoration, windows, doors, woodwork, and architectural metals is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide both strategic oversight and hands-on project support when needed.
