Job Description

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Direct and oversee all field construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
  • Lead multiple superintendents, field engineers, trade foremen, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive site logistics, sequencing, phasing, and construction strategies.
  • Ensure construction activities align with project schedules, milestones, and owner objectives.
  • Drive proactive planning through look-ahead schedules and daily coordination meetings.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact schedule, budget, safety, or quality.



Safety Leadership

  • Champion a world-class safety culture and lead all jobsite safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and project-specific requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident reviews.
  • Hold all subcontractors accountable for maintaining safe work practices.
  • Promote proactive hazard recognition and mitigation across all project phases.



Schedule Management

  • Partner with Project Executives and Project Managers to develop and maintain master project schedules.
  • Lead field planning efforts, including short-interval planning and recovery schedules.
  • Monitor productivity and workforce allocation to maintain schedule commitments.
  • Drive resolution of trade conflicts, procurement constraints, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate work activities in occupied or operational facilities with minimal disruption.



Quality Control

  • Ensure all work meets contract requirements, design specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Lead inspections, punch list management, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate testing, quality assurance programs, and corrective action plans.
  • Promote a culture of craftsmanship and first-time quality performance.



Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary field representative for owners, consultants, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners.
  • Facilitate construction coordination meetings and communicate project progress effectively.
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner on high-profile public projects.



Workforce & Trade Management

  • Lead and mentor project superintendents and field personnel.
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and hold trade partners accountable for safety, quality, manpower, and productivity expectations.
  • Coordinate labor resources across multiple project phases and work areas.
  • Support workforce planning and succession development initiatives.



Public Infrastructure & Operational Facility Coordination

  • Manage construction activities within active transportation, aviation, maritime, or municipal environments.
  • Coordinate work around operational constraints, security requirements, public access, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and owner-specific regulations.
  • Ensure effective communication with facility operators and public agencies throughout project execution.

The Successful Applicant

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
  • Minimum 15+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years in a Senior Superintendent or General Superintendent role.
  • Proven experience leading projects exceeding $100 million in value.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large, complex projects such as:
    • Cruise terminals
    • Airports and aviation facilities
    • Municipal and civic buildings
    • Transportation hubs
    • Convention centers
    • Healthcare campuses
    • Higher education facilities
    • Public infrastructure projects
  • Thorough knowledge of construction means and methods across multiple trades.
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling, construction sequencing, and logistics planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on Design-Build, CMAR, Progressive Design-Build, and Public-Private Partnership (P3) projects.
  • Experience managing phased construction in active facilities.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (preferred).
  • Multiple successful large-scale public sector project completions.
  • Experience coordinating commissioning and turnover activities on complex facilities.
