The Superintendent will oversee field operations for large-scale municipal and institutional construction projects throughout the Charleston market. This individual will be responsible for managing all onsite activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety standards, and delivering high-quality projects from groundbreaking through completion.

Job Description

  • Manage all phases of ground-up construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and construction teams on-site.
  • Monitor project progress and address any challenges or delays effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status.
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to the site.
  • Conduct inspections to maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects
  • Prior experience on projects ranging from $20M-$50M+
  • Strong municipal, institutional, educational, or public-sector experience preferred
  • CMAR experience is a plus
  • Proven leadership of large field teams and subcontractor coordination
  • Stable work history with strong tenure
  • Candidates from respected regional or national contractors preferred
