Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programmes, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead compliance efforts related to workplace safety, environmental regulations, hazardous materials, and waste management.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations while driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness programmes, response planning, and safety training initiatives.
  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping, compliance reporting, and regulatory communications.
  • Develop and track EHS performance metrics, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on safety best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support food safety, operational excellence, and environmental sustainability goals.
  • Lead safety committee activities and promote employee engagement in workplace safety initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during regulatory inspections and compliance audits.

The Successful Applicant

A successful EHS Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of EHS leadership experience within manufacturing, with food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and industrial safety best practices.
  • Experience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, audits, inspections, and corrective action programmes.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety culture and driving behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee training programmes.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Bilingual communication skills are considered an asset.
