Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Healthcare Superintendent to lead occupied healthcare renovations, hospital expansions, operating room upgrades, and select ground-up healthcare construction projects. This individual will be responsible for driving schedules, managing subcontractors, coordinating complex MEP activities, maintaining strict safety and infection control standards, and ensuring successful project delivery in active healthcare environments.Projects typically range from $3M-$20M and require strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Lead day-to-day field operations on healthcare construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Manage phased construction activities within occupied healthcare facilities.
  • Oversee complex MEP installations and coordination efforts.
  • Enforce project safety programmes and healthcare-specific infection control requirements.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project management teams, owners, architects, and consultants.
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimise project impacts.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout project execution.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven Superintendent experience within commercial construction.
  • Healthcare construction project experience required.
  • Experience managing occupied healthcare renovations strongly preferred.
  • Background overseeing projects involving operating rooms, healthcare expansions, or major MEP scopes.
  • Strong understanding of phased construction and occupied-space logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and maintain demanding project schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive within a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel locally to project locations as needed.
