Job Description

Higher Education Superintendent - Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project completion, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with owners, project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel to support successful project execution and delivery.
  • Monitor daily construction progress, workforce productivity, project schedules, quality standards, and site risks, implementing proactive solutions to maintain project milestones and operational goals.
  • Oversee field operations, subcontractor performance, material procurement coordination, inspections, and project closeout activities while ensuring compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, and applicable building codes.
  • Coordinate site logistics and construction sequencing to minimize disruptions to surrounding operations, maintain safe working conditions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality construction projects on schedule and within scope.

The Successful Applicant

Higher Education Superintendent - Successful Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of field supervision, construction management, or superintendent experience overseeing commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, or other complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing ground-up, renovation, tenant improvement, infrastructure, or occupied-facility construction projects with responsibility for on-site coordination, scheduling, and subcontractor oversight preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project sequencing, site logistics, safety regulations, quality control processes, and subcontractor management.
  • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements to ensure work is completed in accordance with project expectations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with owners, project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel to drive collaboration and successful project outcomes.

  • Bonus: $12,500-$20,000 annually (project/profit-based).
