Job Description

Higher Education Superintendent - Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project completion, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
Coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with owners, project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel to support successful project execution and delivery.
Monitor daily construction progress, workforce productivity, project schedules, quality standards, and site risks, implementing proactive solutions to maintain project milestones and operational goals.
Oversee field operations, subcontractor performance, material procurement coordination, inspections, and project closeout activities while ensuring compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, and applicable building codes.
Coordinate site logistics and construction sequencing to minimize disruptions to surrounding operations, maintain safe working conditions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality construction projects on schedule and within scope.

The Successful Applicant

Higher Education Superintendent - Successful Candidate Profile:

5+ years of field supervision, construction management, or superintendent experience overseeing commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, or other complex construction projects.
Experience managing ground-up, renovation, tenant improvement, infrastructure, or occupied-facility construction projects with responsibility for on-site coordination, scheduling, and subcontractor oversight preferred.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project sequencing, site logistics, safety regulations, quality control processes, and subcontractor management.
Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements to ensure work is completed in accordance with project expectations.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with owners, project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel to drive collaboration and successful project outcomes.
