Job Description

Reporting to senior operations leadership, the Lifting & Rigging Services Manager will oversee all service-related activities across multiple Wisconsin locations. The role combines operational leadership, team development, customer engagement, project coordination, and process improvement.
You will lead a team of service coordinators and field personnel responsible for inspection programs, equipment servicing, installations, rentals, quoting, scheduling, reporting, and customer support. Success will require balancing day-to-day execution with longer-term initiatives that improve efficiency, resource allocation, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the daily operations of the inspection, rental, and field services function.
  • Manage service coordinators, technicians, and support personnel while fostering accountability, engagement, and professional development.
  • Partner closely with branch leadership and sales teams to align service capabilities with customer needs and growth objectives.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and workload management across multiple locations.
  • Review and improve operational workflows to reduce bottlenecks, increase responsiveness, and support scalable growth.
  • Ensure quotes, work orders, service documentation, certifications, and project records are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and travel requirements for field projects.
  • Serve as a key customer contact during project execution, ensuring clear communication and successful outcomes.
  • Monitor departmental performance, staffing levels, backlog, utilization, and operational metrics.
  • Recruit, train, and develop additional service personnel as the business grows.
  • Promote a culture centered around safety, quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Travel periodically between Wisconsin locations to maintain team alignment and operational consistency.

This position is primarily focused on leadership and operational management rather than personally performing field inspections or installations. Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience within lifting and rigging, crane services, industrial equipment, rental operations, field services, maintenance services, or a related industrial environment.
  • Prior experience leading field service teams, operational departments, fleet services, technical personnel, or project-based service organizations.
  • Strong background in scheduling, resource planning, workload management, and customer-facing operations.
  • Experience developing or improving operational processes and service delivery workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, technicians, sales teams, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through change, growth, or organizational transition.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lifting, rigging, hoist, crane, inspection, or material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, ASME, or related industrial safety and inspection standards.
  • Experience managing service-focused profit centers or revenue-generating operational departments.
  • Exposure to rental operations, equipment maintenance programs, inspections, or industrial service businesses.
