Job Description

  • Conduct a comprehensive ITAR gap assessment across business units, products, systems, and third-party relationships
  • Develop and implement a structured remediation roadmap with clear timelines and ownership
  • Build and roll out a complete compliance programme, including policies, controls, and operational processes
  • Establish and maintain Technology Control Plans (TCPs), classification systems, and secure access frameworks
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across Engineering, IT, HR, Legal, Sales, and Operations to ensure full alignment
  • Track programme progress, facilitate regular updates, and provide reporting to senior leadership
  • Oversee export licensing activities, including applications, renewals, and ongoing tracking
  • Review and approve technology transfers, foreign national access, and export-related decisions
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure continuous alignment with ITAR, EAR, and related regulations
  • Lead audit preparation and act as the primary liaison for regulators and external stakeholders
  • Manage voluntary disclosures, including investigations and corrective action planning
  • Design and deliver training programmes to drive a strong compliance culture across the organisation
  • Own and continuously update all compliance-related policies and procedures

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on ITAR and/or EAR compliance experience within a regulated industry (e.g. defence, aerospace, advanced technology)
  • Strong knowledge of export regulations, including USML, CCL, licensing processes, and deemed export rules
  • Proven experience building or transforming compliance programmes, not just maintaining them
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and influence stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Experience supporting or leading audits and regulatory interactions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business, Law, or International Affairs
  • U.S. Person status required
