Job Description

The Layout Field Engineer Will Be Responsible For:

  • Set up and maintain permanent control throughout the line and grade portion of the project.
  • Apply expertise in using Total Station, Robotic Total Station, and/or Theodolite equipment.
  • Utilize data surveying software proficiently.
  • Validate dimensions by reviewing architectural and structural drawings before execution.
  • Ensure precision and quality in your work, constantly seeking improvements and monitoring quality levels.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies in drawings prior to execution.
  • Collaborate with the project lead to ensure proper scheduling and sequencing for the line and grade portion.
  • Complete layouts accurately, efficiently, and within the project timeline.
  • Provide layout information to the project team for seamless execution.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Layout Field Engineer Candidate Will Have:

  • Proficient in using Total Station, Robotic Total Station, and/or Theodolite equipment.
  • Experienced with data surveying software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Coordinate Geometry, Geometric Theory, and Geometric Functions for establishing survey/data/layout points.
  • 5+ years of experience in field engineering, surveying, and layout for large-scale Commercial, Self-Perform General Contractor, or Concrete Contractor projects.
  • Some experience with self-perform concrete is required.
  • Experience with a variety of project types, with an emphasis on Commercial/Industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices with experience on projects over $1 million.
