The Layout Technician will provide support to the overall project teams by performing preconstruction, surveying, and site management duties as necessary. This individual will utilize geometry and instruments to establish site dimensions for metal and concrete buildings.

Job Description

Key responsibilities of a Layout Technician include:

  • Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals
  • Utilize Total Station and other instruments to lay out buildings and project sites
  • Create reports to present to General Superintendent and company leadership
  • Travel between projects as needed (Travel expenses covered by company)
  • Overview project goals and ensure project goals are achievable
  • Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project schedule and efficacy

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate:

  • 5+ years of engineering, architectural, or construction surveying experience in related markets
  • Strong organizational skills; candidate should be energized by working with different teams, both internal and external
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects and teams concurrently. Comfortable learning new software platforms to track and organize project information
  • Technical background with understanding of building engineering and commercial projects; prior experience in commercial projects
  • Detailed knowledge of resource planning and financial planning
  • Proficient experience with surveying tools and methods
  • Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to navigate in a fast pace environment
  • Team player that's passionate about innovation and driven to optimize and build better buildings and products
