Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of engineers supporting the production of highly complex machined aerospace components and assemblies. This role will drive process improvements, optimize manufacturing efficiency, support production operations, and champion continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Job Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes to improve productivity and operational performance.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, process flows, and routing documentation for complex products.
  • Generate and maintain engineering drawings, product structures, and supporting manufacturing documentation.
  • Create production cost estimates including labor, material, equipment, and cycle times.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to support manufacturing objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for shop floor operations and external suppliers.
  • Determine manufacturing tolerances and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
  • Prioritize multiple engineering projects while meeting production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Analyze manufacturing challenges and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure engineering activities align with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively across departments, shifts, and leadership teams to drive project success.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience, preferably within aerospace, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process improvement, and production optimization.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software; CATIA V5 experience is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards is preferred.
  • Experience supporting precision-machined components and complex assemblies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; Epicor/Vantage experience is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Understanding of aerospace processing specifications is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
