Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and standardizing extrusion and injection molding processes to support current production demands and future growth. Working closely with production, quality, engineering, and global manufacturing teams, this individual will drive process improvements, support capital projects, enhance product quality, and ensure manufacturing operations remain efficient, compliant, and scalable.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, waste reduction, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop, validate, and standardize extrusion and injection molding processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment across manufacturing operations.
  • Manage capital equipment projects, including justification, specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support for manufacturing processes, equipment performance issues, and root cause investigations.
  • Support new product introduction activities by ensuring manufacturing processes are capable, efficient, and aligned with operational requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a hands-on manufacturing engineering professional with strong experience within plastics manufacturing environments, particularly extrusion and injection moulding. They will possess excellent problem-solving capabilities, demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, and be comfortable collaborating across multiple functions to deliver measurable operational results.

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum five years of manufacturing engineering experience within extrusion, injection moulding, plastics processing, or similar production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, SPC, FMEA, DFMA, and Root Cause Analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, process validation, workflow optimisation, and production equipment improvements.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD systems alongside strong data analysis and technical documentation skills.
