Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Machining | Geneva, IL

• Interpret customer requirements and define appropriate machining/ tooling specifications
• Designs machining fixture for current products and/or new product implementation
• Prepare documentation packages (CNC tooling/setup sheets) for new and modified products and processes
• Stay abreast of equipment, material, products and process trends in the machining industry
• Design improvements to products and processes for cost savings
• Oversee/approve programming of prototype machining and tooling requirements
• Maintain product standard routing times in ERP system
• Track Productivity Improvements, Tooling Performance Improvements and Cost Reductions.
• Evaluate machining processes to assure the requirements of the Quality Plan are met.
• Improve existing manufacturing methods and consult with tooling vendors as required to optimize CNC program and tooling performance.
• Understand and follow all organization and department safety policies and procedures
• Develop product and production process requirements, standards, and associated documentation
• Oversee the tool room, including the maintenance, repair, and availability of tooling, fixtures, and gauges needed to support production. Coordinate tool room priorities with production and ensure tooling is ready when needed.
• Perform product, process, and system audits, maintain logs, and analyze data
• Perform analysis of failed machining process and assist/provide development of corrective action
• Evaluate yield, performance, and other statistical data for trends and develop corresponding product or process improvements
• Understand and clarify customers' needs and provide product application support
• Solve machining problems in production department and ensure process documentations are updated
• Develop operator work instructions and tooling data sheets for production employees
• Review CNC machining programmers work using CAD/CAM software
• Implement Engineering Design Changes as related to the machining processes
• Train production operators in the new or revised machining process
• Perform other duties as assigned
