Job Description

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes and process documentation.
  • Manage equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Maintain accurate ERP system data, including routings, bills of materials, rates, and process information.
  • Support new product introductions and provide manufacturing input during design reviews.
  • Create manufacturing work instructions, process standards, and equipment documentation.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to eliminate waste and improve process flow.
  • Conduct process capability studies, root cause investigations, and data analysis.
  • Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and work-holding solutions using CAD software.
  • Coordinate manufacturing projects with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and customers.
  • Support production teams through troubleshooting, training, and implementation of process improvements.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and increased throughput.
  • Participate in quality audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Prepare technical and financial justifications for capital equipment investments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting machining operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, preferably Plex.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills using Minitab or similar software.
  • Knowledge of process capability analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), regression analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, with SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional interpretation.
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving methods such as Six Sigma, 8D, 5 Why, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining, tooling selection, work holding, and machining process optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively communicate across departments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
