This role is responsible for equipment design and improvement, process optimization, troubleshooting, tooling coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives that support safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.

Job Description

  • Design, build, and implement manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Develop equipment modifications and process improvements.
  • Identify equipment needs and support capital equipment purchases.
  • Research and evaluate equipment vendors and solutions.
  • Develop standardized work instructions and training materials.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process-related issues.
  • Partner with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate tooling, fixturing, repairs, and tool room priorities.
  • Create and maintain production standards and operating procedures.
  • Track production performance and refine manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote compliance with safety standards and best practices.
  • Create and modify engineering prints and documentation.
  • Support machine operators and production personnel as needed.
  • Create work orders and coordinate repair and rebuild activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement and project teams.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Manufacturing Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with SPC methodologies; DOE experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects and process improvements.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working on the production floor and collaborating across departments.
