Job Description

  • Provide technical support across process development, metallurgical testing, cold drawing, heat treating, nondestructive testing, and failure analysis activities
  • Investigate manufacturing and customer-related issues while developing sustainable corrective actions
  • Review and disposition nonconforming materials, NCRs, and customer complaints
  • Lead process improvement initiatives utilizing SPC, Six Sigma, Lean principles, and statistical analysis
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency
  • Develop and execute installation qualifications (IQ), operational qualifications (OQ), and process validations (PQ)
  • Support the creation and execution of validation plans for new equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Manage projects related to equipment installation, cost savings, and operational improvements
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with manufacturing processes and metallic materials
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to drive product and process enhancements
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineering personnel
  • Utilize data analysis tools to identify trends, improve capability, and reduce variation
  • Support process documentation and engineering initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions aligned with business objectives

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within a production environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience applying statistical methods and design of experiments
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and SPC methodologies
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations and process improvements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Minitab statistical software
  • Experience with 3D modeling and drafting software, preferably SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of equipment validation, process qualification, and quality systems
  • Background in metal forming, cleaning, heat treating, or metals processing preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
