This role focuses on process optimization, continuous improvement, quality enhancements, and implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and support new product introductions.

Job Description

  • Provide technical support for extrusion and compounding operations
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, tooling, and material issues
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and operating parameters
  • Implement machine, tooling, and equipment improvements
  • Standardize processes and develop operating instructions and SOPs
  • Train production teams on process improvements and best practices
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Reduce scrap rates and improve overall manufacturing efficiency
  • Maintain BOM accuracy and process documentation
  • Implement quality and productivity improvements across production lines
  • Develop troubleshooting guides for manufacturing personnel
  • Establish and monitor operational performance metrics
  • Lead process development activities for new product introductions
  • Support raw material qualification and validation trials
  • Participate in Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements

The Successful Applicant

A successful Manufacturing Process Engineer should have:

  • BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of process engineering experience in manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on plastics extrusion experience required
  • PVC compounding experience preferred
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • Experience supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives and smart manufacturing systems
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA systems preferred
  • Knowledge of real-time process monitoring and data acquisition platforms
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data and drive process optimization
  • Experience improving temperature profiles, and process stability
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance, predictive quality, or machine learning applications preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both engineering and production teams
