Job Description

  • Design and develop robotic work cells and industrial automation systems from concept through detailed design.
  • Create engineering drawings, models, and documentation for machinery, equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Develop design modifications and custom options for automation equipment and robotic systems.
  • Design pneumatic systems and specify appropriate mechanical and electrical components.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to verify equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Produce practical, cost-effective designs while meeting project timelines and customer requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD, to create detailed mechanical designs and assemblies.
  • Support preparation of technical proposals and solution concepts for customer applications.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, engineering records, and supporting files.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, products, and industry developments within automation and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate effectively with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience designing industrial machinery, automation equipment, or engineered systems.
  • Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks; experience with AutoCAD is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of automation equipment, robotics, machine design, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to select and integrate sensors, controls-related components, and mechanical subsystems.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience performing engineering calculations and design validation.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as within a team environment.
