The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and documentation of RF coaxial, data, and AC/DC power surge protection devices as well as EMI/EMC filter products. This role works closely with engineering, test, production, product management, and customers to develop new products and support existing solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and document RF, surge protection, and EMI/EMC products.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and product development activities.
  • Develop product requirements, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Support product testing, validation, and prototype development.
  • Perform engineering calculations and feasibility studies for new products.
  • Create and maintain technical drawings, models, BOMs, and specifications using SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, testing, vendors, and contractors.
  • Evaluate designs and recommend improvements to product performance and manufacturability.
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain engineering documentation.
  • Manage projects through the full product lifecycle, including schedules, resources, and deliverables.
  • Present project updates, design reviews, and technical recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns as needed.
  • Communicate technical requirements and project status to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Support customer requirements and provide technical input for new product initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Mechanical Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Experience creating technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong understanding of product development and design validation processes.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with military standards and specifications preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO quality systems, and Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Ability to work independently from limited documentation and design requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
