Job Description

  • Design HVAC systems including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, hydronic, chilled water, and mechanical piping systems.
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard engineering software.
  • Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
  • Select and schedule mechanical equipment to meet project requirements and performance goals.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and existing facility assessments.
  • Support construction activities through submittal reviews, RFI responses, and construction administration services.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, ASHRAE standards, and client-specific requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings and collaborate with project teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project execution.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in MEP consulting engineering.
  • Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, laboratory, multifamily, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
  • Experience using load calculation and energy modelling software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or IES-VE.
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, the International Mechanical Code (IMC), and applicable building regulations.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE licence or ability to obtain licensure highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
