This role is responsible for overseeing and directing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects of construction projects, while ensuring all MEP systems are designed, installed, and commissioned according to contractual specifications, budgets, schedules and required regulations.

Job Description

A MEP Director in construction leads the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing department. They manage system design, control budgets and schedules, ensure code compliance and safety, and coordinate engineering teams with project stakeholders to deliver functional building networks.

Leadership and Management

  • Team direction: Lead and mentor internal engineering staff, department managers, and field personnel.



  • Resource allocation: Assign staff and manage project workloads efficiently.



  • Strategic planning: Develop department goals and align MEP strategies with company objectives.



  • System integration: Oversee the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), power distribution, and plumbing networks.



  • Design validation: Review construction documents, technical reports, and drawings for accuracy.



  • Problem solving: Resolve complex on-site technical and coordination issues between trades.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering; Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial mechanical / electrical construction, design experience, or project management experience with an MEP focus.
