Job Description

  • Oversee day-to-day MEP construction activities across commercial projects, ensuring installations align with drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve site conflicts.
  • Review construction drawings, MEP shop drawings, and project specifications to identify potential coordination issues.
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover of MEP systems.
  • Work closely with project managers, general superintendents, design teams, and subcontractors to address technical issues and schedule constraints.
  • Conduct regular site walks, progress meetings, and quality control inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of site progress, deficiencies, RFIs, and installation issues.
  • Enforce site safety procedures and ensure subcontractors maintain safe working environments.
  • Identify potential delays or installation clashes and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as an MEP Superintendent, MEP Supervisor, or similar role within commercial construction.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations on commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, MEP coordination, specifications, and building systems.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing trade sequencing on active construction sites.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards, quality control procedures, inspections, and commissioning processes.
  • Ability to identify and resolve field conflicts, technical issues, and schedule challenges.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project management teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation tools is an advantage.
