Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the on-site delivery of commercial interiors projects across New York City. This role is responsible for managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring every project is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

Our client is a leading General Contractor with an established reputation for delivering high-quality commercial interiors projects throughout New York City. Working across corporate office fit-outs, workplace renovations, tenant improvements, retail spaces, and specialty interiors, they are known for their commitment to quality, client service, and successful project execution. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to add a talented Superintendent to their construction team.

Job Description

    • Oversee all day-to-day site operations on commercial interiors projects.
    • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project milestones are achieved.
    • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules.
    • Coordinate project logistics, material deliveries, and site activities.
    • Conduct daily site walks and ensure quality standards are maintained.
    • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
    • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and site progress updates.
    • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
    • Identify and resolve field-related challenges proactively.
    • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, clients, architects, and consultants.
    • Monitor project progress and drive schedule adherence through completion and closeout.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Superintendent should have:

    • 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a General Contractor.
    • Proven track record delivering commercial interiors, tenant fit-outs, and renovation projects.
    • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, site logistics, and interior finishes.
    • Experience managing projects in occupied and active building environments.
    • Ability to lead multiple trades and maintain productivity on fast-paced schedules.
    • Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures.
    • Ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
    • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction management software is advantageous.
