Known for its focus on innovation and high-quality standards, the company is dedicated to delivering exceptional products to its customers while fostering a supportive and professional work environment.Job DescriptionPerform and oversee microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and packaging components per applicable regulatory and internal specificationsAuthor, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), validation protocols, test methods, and controlled documentsServe as the microbiology subject matter expert during audits, inspections, and product quality investigationsOversee environmental monitoring programs (air, surface, water, personnel) and trend/report resultsDevelop, execute, and document validation protocols for cleaning, equipment, and process changesCollaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and Sanitation teams on microbiological risk and process impactConduct validation activities including environmental monitoring assessments, cleaning verification, and risk evaluationsSupport contamination control strategies and microbiological risk assessments across departmentsTrain and mentor junior staff on laboratory methods, aseptic technique, and compliance requirementsMaintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while ensuring ongoing GMP and GLP complianceStay current on industry trends, emerging pathogens, and regulatory updatesReview outsourced microbiological results and investigate discrepanciesEnsure adherence to laboratory safety practices and response proceduresConduct cleaning and sanitization verification (e.g., ATP testing, swabbing)Develop and implement microbiological testing methods, including rapid methods where applicableAnalyze complex data, identify trends, and present findings to managementLead investigations into out-of-specification (OOS) or atypical results, including root cause analysis and CAPASupport customer complaint investigations related to microbiological qualityProvide input on specifications, regulatory compliance, and client-facing discussionsDeliver microbiology and GMP training to laboratory and production personnelMaintain accurate documentation in alignment with data integrity and traceability requirementsSupport facility cleaning and sanitization programsParticipate in internal audits, supplier audits, and regulatory inspectionsPerform additional duties as assignedMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
