Job Description

  • Provide leadership and oversight across manufacturing support functions and operational departments.
  • Partner with production leadership to ensure efficient and effective execution of customer orders.
  • Lead and support quality initiatives to maintain high standards of product and process performance.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate material flow.
  • Foster strong communication and working relationships with shop floor employees.
  • Address employee relations, performance concerns, and operational challenges in a proactive manner.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, efficiency, and workflow optimization.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership regarding operational performance and P&L accountability.
  • Help create a stable, accountable, and team-oriented culture as the organization continues to mature.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Manager should have:

  • 5+ years of Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership experience.
  • Experience leading teams of 25 to 100+ employees in a manufacturing setting.
  • A background in metal fabrication, sheet metal, machining, welding, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success improving shop floor performance, employee engagement, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience overseeing multiple functions including production, quality, shipping/receiving, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Strong employee relations and personnel management experience, including coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, and team development.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, quality, and customer-facing teams to ensure delivery, quality, and operational objectives are achieved.
  • A highly visible and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to build credibility and trust with both hourly and salaried employees.
