Job Description

  • Oversee tax compliance and reporting for the management company and related entities (federal, state, and international where applicable)
  • Lead tax planning initiatives related to management fee income, incentive compensation, and partner allocations
  • Advise on structuring considerations for the management company, including entity optimization and cross-border operations
  • Partner with senior leadership, legal, and finance teams on tax implications of business decisions
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and ensure delivery of high-quality work
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, assessing impact to the firm
  • Support transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements as applicable
  • Lead responses to tax audits and regulatory inquiries
  • Play a key role in improving tax processes, controls, and documentation

The Successful Applicant

A successful Partnership Tax Director should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA OR MST strongly preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of tax experience, with a mix of public accounting and in-house experience preferred
  • Deep expertise in partnership taxation and management company structures within asset management
  • Familiarity with compensation-related tax matters (e.g., carried interest, deferred comp, partner allocations)
  • Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax considerations
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
