We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve injection moulding and secondary manufacturing operations. This position will focus on process development, production optimisation, new product introductions, automation initiatives, and lean manufacturing improvements. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Drive manufacturing process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Support production teams in identifying and resolving process-related challenges across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product introductions, ensuring smooth transitions into production.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, tooling, and operations teams to improve manufacturability and process performance.
  • Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, and workflow improvements that support consistent production results.
  • Analyse production metrics and operational data to identify opportunities for waste reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Support process validation, product launches, and ongoing optimisation efforts within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective action activities to improve long-term process stability.
  • Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and support compliance with quality and operational standards.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3 to 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with injection moulding process development, tooling, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and manufacturing process validation.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and manufacturing data analysis.
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, or collaborative robotic systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, quality, operations, tooling, and supply chain teams.
