The Process Engineer will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in the industrial and manufacturing industry.

Our client is a well-established, privately held manufacturer specializing in custom and precision gearing solutions. With decades of experience, they support a diverse range of industries including aerospace, defense, agriculture, mining, and heavy equipment. Their capabilities span from OEM gear programs to high-precision machining processes such as tooth grinding, diameter grinding, and milling.

Job Description

  • Develop and establish manufacturing processes for new and existing jobs
  • Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into effective production processes
  • Review and process job orders to ensure accuracy and completeness before release to the floor
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering and shop floor teams to ensure proper execution
  • Investigate and resolve discrepant material issues (DMRs), including root cause analysis
  • Support quoting and estimating activities for incoming work
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across production workflows
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards in a controlled manufacturing environment

The Successful Applicant

  • Hands-on Process Engineer with prior experience in gear manufacturing
  • Proven ability to develop and implement manufacturing processes in a custom or job shop environment
  • Strong understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and translating them into production workflows
  • Experience working closely with shop floor teams to ensure execution, quality, and efficiency
  • Familiar with handling job orders and resolving production issues, including discrepant materials
  • Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder due to regulatory requirements



Preferred:

  • Background in aerospace or defense manufacturing
  • Experience supporting quoting or estimating activities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
