Job Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3-4 procurement professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development support.
  • Manage the full sourcing and purchasing lifecycle, ensuring cost-effective procurement decisions and strong supplier performance.
  • Source specialty and non-standard products to meet unique customer and business requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, quantities, and delivery schedules with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee purchase order activity to maintain optimal stock availability and product flow.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues, including shipment delays, backorders, short shipments, quality concerns, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Analyze purchasing data, supplier performance metrics, and spending trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Track commodity market trends and provide recommendations to mitigate risk and control costs.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations for quality and delivery are met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate procurement documentation and compliance with company policies and procedures.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Procurement Manager should have:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.



Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Experience leading projects from concept through implementation with full ownership and accountability.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and inventory-related activities.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with international sourcing strongly preferred.
  • Industry experience within packaging, specialty materials, industrial products, or related manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
