The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the printing and fulfillment departments. This role ensures production goals are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The Production Manager works cross-functionally with Scheduling, Estimating, Sales, and Project Managers to ensure jobs are executed accurately and on time. Reporting into the Director of Operations.

Job Description

  • Oversee daily production operations to meet schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements
  • Optimize workflows, job sequencing, and resource utilization to improve efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Review job specifications, materials, and layouts for production readiness and feasibility
  • Monitor production performance, analyze data, and implement continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members; manage staffing, scheduling, and training
  • Enforce safety policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards (including PPE and safe work practices)
  • Ensure quality control across all processes; identify issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Project Management, Quality, Scheduling) to align on requirements and resolve challenges
  • Communicate production status, risks, and solutions effectively across teams
  • Support new technology adoption, process improvements, and a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

The Successful Applicant

A successful Production Manager should have:

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience (packaging or print preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and optimize workflows in real time
  • Proficient in data analysis, process improvement, and problem-solving
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Familiarity with die cutting, finishing, and large-format digital printing processes preferred
  • Understanding of print quality standards, color management, and equipment troubleshooting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with noise, machinery, and chemical exposure
