Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Drive operational performance through monitoring and analysis of key metrics including productivity, efficiency, scrap, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to production teams while promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to established manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures, and company policies.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement timely corrective actions to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
  • Champion workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support workforce planning, employee performance management, and employee relations activities in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing productivity, quality, operational efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to address production, quality, and operational issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
  • Communicate operational priorities, performance, and challenges to senior leadership while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support facility planning and execution of strategic initiatives that drive long-term operational success.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Production Manager/Supervisor should have:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience leading manufacturing operations within an industrial production environment.
  • Prior experience managing teams and developing frontline leaders.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience within advanced manufacturing, industrial products, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Exposure to Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence programs.
  • Experience with ERP systems, production planning, and resource allocation.
