Job Description

  • Lead daily operations across a three-shift chemical production department.
  • Supervise production employees and ensure safe, efficient manufacturing activities.
  • Coordinate material flow through production and wastewater processing operations.
  • Develop and communicate production schedules and shift priorities.
  • Monitor raw materials, consumables, and inventory levels to support production demands.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with established SOPs, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Coordinate activities with laboratory, wastewater, and order fulfillment teams.
  • Monitor equipment performance and initiate maintenance work orders as needed.
  • Support engineering projects through data collection and process analysis.
  • Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management system requirements and corrective action processes.
  • Train, coach, and develop production personnel while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
  • Support departmental budget objectives and cost control initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Production Supervisor should have:

  • Chemistry degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of experience within chemical processing or related manufacturing environments.
  • Previous supervisory or production leadership experience.
  • Experience working with chemical processes, equipment, and safe chemical handling practices.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and safety programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret SDS documentation and technical procedures.
  • Experience training and developing manufacturing personnel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and manufacturing databases.
  • Experience supporting engineering or process improvement projects preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with precious metals or specialty chemicals is a plus.
