Job Description

Quality Engineering & Process Improvement

  • Analyse quality, scrap, rework, and warranty data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause investigations using methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, A3, DMAIC, and Six Sigma tools.
  • Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, SPC programmes, gauge R&R studies, and process capability assessments.
  • Partner with manufacturing and production teams to implement process improvements and defect-prevention strategies.
  • Drive corrective and preventative actions through to verified and sustainable closure.



Supplier Quality

  • Lead initiatives to reduce reliance on incoming inspection by improving supplier capability and process controls.
  • Serve as the primary contact for supplier quality issues, including audits, SCARs, and capability assessments.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to develop and manage supplier quality performance.
  • Support PPAP submissions, first article inspections, supplier qualification activities, and continuous improvement programmes.



Customer Quality

  • Act as the primary quality representative for customer complaints, warranty trends, and field performance issues.
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality concerns through structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Translate warranty and field performance data into actionable internal improvement projects.
  • Support customer audits, quality documentation requests, and complaint resolution activities.



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Service teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in new product introductions and design changes to ensure quality requirements are integrated early in development.
  • Support internal and external audits while maintaining quality documentation and records.
  • Monitor and report key quality metrics, presenting findings and recommendations to leadership.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or a similar manufacturing-focused role.
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, A3, 5-Why, and Six Sigma.
  • Strong understanding of SPC, MSA, gauge R&R, process capability studies, FMEA, and control plans.
  • Experience managing supplier quality initiatives, including supplier audits, SCARs, PPAP, and first article inspections.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel and quality/statistical software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and independently drive corrective actions to completion.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within HVAC, appliance, heavy equipment, or other mechanically engineered manufacturing environments.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP).
