About Our Client

Our client is a premier steel manufacturer with over 125 years of industry leadership, supplying top-tier, high-grade steel to a variety of industries. They have over 1000 employees onsite at this location and they are continuing to grow. They are currently seeking a Quality Engineer with a strong background in the steel/heavy industrial industries.

Job Description

  • Support quality assurance efforts within a large-scale manufacturing environment by ensuring products meet customer specifications and internal standards
  • Partner closely with operations to provide metallurgical and technical support across production
  • Analyze process and product data to identify opportunities for quality improvement
  • Lead and support root cause investigations, rejection analysis, and corrective actions
  • Perform internal audits and maintain compliance with quality systems and procedure
  • Develop and present quality reports and participate in quality-related meetings
  • Conduct daily floor audits to ensure operations are running within defined parameters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and product quality

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience within steel or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, with exposure to ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive process improvements
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with operations and engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in a plant environment
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven setting
  • QMS experience
