Job Description

  • Maintain, update, and continuously improve the AS9100-compliant Quality Management System, ensuring full audit readiness and acting as the primary liaison for internal, customer, and certification audits
  • Oversee all inspection, testing, and product release activities to ensure parts meet engineering specifications and customer requirements, including thorough execution of First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Lead the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process, including root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, 5-Why), implementation of solutions, and verification of effectiveness
  • Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities, evaluating nonconforming materials and determining appropriate disposition such as rework, deviation, or scrap
  • Collaborate with procurement to assess, approve, and monitor suppliers, ensuring incoming materials meet required industry and customer standards (e.g., AMS, ASTM)
  • Oversee calibration and control of all measurement and inspection equipment to maintain accuracy and compliance with quality standards
  • Supervise, train, and mentor quality team members, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and zero-defect performance

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven quality leader with 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, including supervisory responsibility
  • Strong expertise in aerospace quality standards, particularly AS9100, with hands-on audit experience
  • Solid background in machining environments (CNC preferred), with understanding of fastener or precision component production
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, CAPA)
  • Experienced in inspection methods, measurement tools, and interpretation of engineering drawings including GD&T
  • Familiar with supplier quality management and material standards such as AMS and ASTM
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze KPIs and cost of quality metrics
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and mentoring quality teams
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of product quality and compliance
