Job Description

  • Lead and champion the company's AS9100 Quality Management System, driving quality culture, employee training, and procedural excellence across the organization.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to support ongoing business growth and operational improvements.
  • Monitor customer quality and delivery performance metrics, proactively addressing scorecard issues and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Manage and maintain facility-wide calibration systems, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee supplier quality programs, conduct supplier audits, and drive supplier performance improvements throughout the supply chain.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to improve product quality, manufacturing yields, design validation, and product reliability.
  • Lead First Article Inspection processes and ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
  • Review customer contracts, quality requirements, regulatory clauses, and compliance obligations to ensure organizational adherence.
  • Supervise inspection personnel and oversee final product acceptance activities, workmanship standards, testing protocols, and release processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventative measures, and quality performance initiatives focused on zero defects and on-time delivery.

The Successful Applicant

  • 7+ years of experience within Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or a related manufacturing quality leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing supplier quality programs, audits, and corrective action processes.
  • Proven ability to interact directly with customers while managing quality metrics and performance expectations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product testing, inspection methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, or similar structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing quality teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to balance strategic quality initiatives with hands-on operational execution.
