Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and quality control initiatives across manufacturing, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations. This hands-on leadership role will oversee compliance, inspections, welding certifications, quality systems, and process improvement efforts while partnering closely with production and engineering teams.

Job Description

  • Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.
  • Perform and oversee inspections of components, welds, and finished assemblies using engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Manage non-destructive testing processes, including visual, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and ultrasonic testing methods.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measurement equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS, AWWA, ASME, ISO, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Drive corrective actions, root cause investigations, and resolution of non-conforming products.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Oversee welder certification and qualification programs, ensuring compliance with industry requirements.
  • Review and approve welding procedures, qualifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality concerns and improve operational performance.
  • Track quality performance metrics and lead initiatives that reduce defects, rework, and waste.
  • Mentor and train quality personnel, welders, and production teams on best practices and compliance requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of quality management, quality assurance, or quality control experience within manufacturing, fabrication, or welding environments.
  • Strong expertise in AWS D1.1, AWWA standards, welding codes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing weld certification programs and welder performance testing.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with non-destructive testing methodologies and quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience within heavy manufacturing, structural fabrication, industrial equipment, or related industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality systems is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Welding, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
