Job Description

  • Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers, Product Metallurgists, and technical staff
  • Oversee quality assurance activities for sheet steel products and customer requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process performance, and operational excellence
  • Manage product disposition, quality reviews, and corrective actions
  • Ensure proper order setup and coordination of product-related activities across manufacturing operations
  • Support new product development initiatives within automotive, energy, and service center markets
  • Oversee ERP-related activities associated with order management and product processing
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, technical, and commercial teams to resolve product quality issues
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term quality and product strategies
  • Evaluate, mentor, and develop technical personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and performance
  • Maintain compliance with quality management systems and customer specifications

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field preferred
  • 6+ years of experience within steel manufacturing or a heavy industrial environment
  • 3+ years of quality assurance or quality management experience
  • Previous leadership or management experience required
  • Experience working within Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product quality, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing information systems



Preferred Qualifications

  • Steel industry experience strongly preferred
  • Background in metallurgy or materials science
  • Experience leading quality teams within large-scale manufacturing operations
  • Strong knowledge of sheet steel products and quality testing methodologies
  • Experience driving process improvements and operational excellence initiatives
