Job Description

  • Lead and manage the company's EHS systems and safety database
  • Oversee all certifications, compliance programmes, and renewals
  • Drive onboarding and ongoing safety training initiatives
  • Manage DOT, FMCSA, and driver compliance programmes
  • Maintain OSHA compliance, including OSHA 300 logs and reporting
  • Conduct Toolbox Talks, Stand Downs, and internal safety meetings
  • Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Develop and manage safety incentive programmes
  • Prepare and oversee project safety documentation (AHA, JHA, exposure plans, etc.)
  • Perform site safety inspections and ensure equipment compliance
  • Support bid processes, prequalification, and insurance reviews
  • Track and improve EMR/MOD performance and report safety metrics
  • Provide consistent field presence across 10-20 active job sites weekly
  • Build and scale the safety team as the company grows

The Successful Applicant

A successful Safety Manager should have:

  • 3+ years of EHS management experience in construction environments
  • 3+ years of civil construction experience (trenching experience required)
  • Proven experience conducting field safety audits and inspections
  • Strong understanding of OSHA compliance and reporting standards
  • OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 510+ preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Experience with EHS systems, LMS platforms, and Microsoft Office
