Job Description

The Safety Manager - Commercial Construction - DC/Maryland will:

  • Lead all safety initiatives across multiple active construction projects throughout the DC Metro region.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Manage incident investigations and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Provide safety training, coaching, and support to field and office personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EM-385, and applicable federal safety standards.
  • Partner with project teams to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Prepare safety reports, documentation, and compliance records for leadership review.
  • Supervise and mentor one direct-report safety professional.
  • Serve as the primary safety resource for field operations and executive leadership.

The Successful Applicant

The Safety Manager - Commercial Construction - DC/Maryland will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Safety Manager role within construction.
  • Experience leading safety programs across multiple projects and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • EM-385 certification required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel daily throughout the DC Metro region and project sites.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Government, federal, or secure-facility construction experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain required security clearances/badging.
