Our client is looking for a strong, motivated Senior Operations Financial Analyst to join their $3B PE backed manufacturer near Schaumburg, IL. Reporting into the Plant Controller, this role will support the manufacturing, cost accounting, and financial analysis/forecasting for a plant, CAPEX, and their tolling services.

Job Description

  • Monitor plant performance and financial results by analyzing production output, manufacturing costs, standard cost performance, key cost drivers, and variances against operating plans.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, including monthly forecasts, variance analysis, month-end close activities, and communication of financial performance to plant and corporate stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate product costing and inventory valuation through oversight of bills of materials, costing structures, standard costs, and related financial controls.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial and capital reporting by partnering with controlling teams to maintain compliance with US GAAP and support timely, accurate financial disclosures.
  • Support capital planning and investment decision-making through development of long-range strategic plans, cash flow forecasts, business cases, and financial analyses for major capital projects.
  • Evaluate and monitor capital project performance, reviewing project financials, validating expected benefits, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities to maximize return on investment.
  • Provide financial leadership and business partnership to operations, logistics, demand planning, and senior leadership teams by delivering insights that support strategic initiatives and operational objectives.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and special projects, preparing executive presentations, responding to business requests, and delivering actionable recommendations to support organizational goals.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of manufacturing accounting experience
  • Partnership with plant leadership experience
  • Ability to support forecasting/planning
  • SAP experience a plus
