Job Description

  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagrams.
  • Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by generating CNC programs, implementing tooling and fixturing
  • Document machine setups, applications, and process improvements for internal and customer reference.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring both internal teams and external customers in advanced manufacturing concepts
  • Design and develop CNC programs, tooling, fixturing, and machining processes for aerospace and defense components.
  • Analyze and define manufacturing methods and process flows for complex, tight-tolerance parts
  • Create and maintain method instructions / operation sheets, including setups, tooling lists, operation sequences, speeds and feeds, cycle time standards, and routings

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong technical knowledge of machining processes and equipment.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience (machining enviorments), ideally supporting aerospace, automotive, or medical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Siemens, Fanuc ect).
  • Proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam/NX ect) and (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ect).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Understanding of ISO standards
  • Ability to work on-site in Schaumburg, IL, with 30% travel
