Job Description

The Senior Automation Engineer will report into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Lead the design, development, installation, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment and assembly systems.
  • Serve as the technical owner for automation solutions from concept through production support.
  • Design and modify mechanical systems, fixtures, tooling, and machine assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and HMI interfaces.
  • Integrate robotics, machine vision, motion control, and automation technologies into reliable production systems.
  • Lead root cause investigations, reliability improvements, and equipment uptime initiatives.
  • Manage capital equipment projects including vendor selection, commissioning, and production handoff.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Omron, or similar).
  • Experience programming and integrating industrial robots such as ABB or Fanuc.
  • Machine vision experience using platforms such as Cognex or Keyence.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Strong electromechanical troubleshooting and project leadership capabilities.
