Job Description

  • Lead the design and development of complex electronic, embedded, photonic, and electromechanical products from concept through production.
  • Drive product innovation by developing new solutions and enhancing existing technologies across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert within electronics and/or embedded systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential design challenges, and develop mitigation strategies throughout project execution.
  • Own and manage the engineering design process while ensuring adherence to established development standards and procedures.
  • Create and maintain detailed CAD models, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support production readiness, process improvements, and repair methodologies.
  • Analyze product performance, customer requirements, and compliance standards to implement effective design improvements.
  • Support validation, testing, and qualification activities to ensure robust product performance and reliability.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to strengthen technical capability within the broader engineering team.

The Successful Applicant

  • Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in electronics product design and development.
  • Strong expertise in electronic systems, embedded technologies, and product development lifecycles.
  • Experience using eCAD software, simulation tools, and PLM systems.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
  • Deep understanding of electronic design principles, microelectronic assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with design verification, testing methodologies, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with DFMEA and structured engineering processes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
