Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to join a technology development group responsible for exploring new concepts, advancing emerging technologies, and solving highly complex engineering problems. The successful candidate will work across a broad range of technical areas including analog and mixed-signal electronics, instrumentation, electromagnetics, sensors, power systems, and semiconductor equipment technologies. Working closely with engineering experts and research teams, they will help transform ideas into practical solutions through experimentation, analysis, prototyping, and technical investigation.

  • Design, prototype, and evaluate analog, mixed-signal, power electronic, instrumentation, and sensor-based systems for advanced technology applications.
  • Develop and execute experimental test plans, create test fixtures, analyse data, and perform root-cause investigations to support research and product development activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify and develop novel concepts, support intellectual property creation, and advance future technology roadmaps.
  • Investigate complex system-level issues involving interactions between hardware, controls, sensors, software, power systems, and underlying physical phenomena.
  • Support the development of proof-of-concept architectures, technical feasibility studies, and innovative engineering solutions that can be transitioned into future products.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will possess a strong Electrical Engineering foundation combined with a passion for innovation, research, and technical problem-solving. They will be naturally curious, capable of applying first-principles thinking to complex challenges, and comfortable operating in environments where requirements may be ambiguous and solutions have not yet been defined. A successful individual will enjoy working across multiple technical disciplines and have the ability to independently drive investigations from concept through validation.

  • Strong experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, instrumentation, measurement systems, sensors, electromagnetics, or power electronics.
  • Proven ability to design experiments, analyse technical data, troubleshoot complex systems, and solve multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
  • Experience within semiconductor capital equipment, advanced technology development, scientific instrumentation, or other highly technical engineering environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capability to move concepts from initial idea through prototyping, validation, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to engineers, management teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
