Job Description

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in the preconstruction process, leading estimating efforts on a variety of commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $20M+.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design development, and final estimates.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine project costs and risks.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Develop and maintain detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with project management and field operations teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Lead bid preparation efforts, including scope reviews, clarifications, and proposal development.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives for clients.
  • Assist with budgeting, feasibility studies, and preconstruction planning activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Monitor market trends, labor costs, and material pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Estimator will possess:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction.
  • Experience estimating projects within sectors such as commercial, industrial, retail, multifamily, hospitality, education, healthcare, or mixed-use construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience performing quantity take-offs and developing detailed project budgets.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
